Choose to be involved! Participation through education for democracy

The ‘Choose to be involved! Participation through education for democracy’ project benefits from an 88,249.20 Euros grant from Active Citizens Fund Romania, programme funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA Grants Grants 2014 -2021 and is implemented by Asociația Transcena in partnership with E-Romnja Association for Roma Women's Rights.

The activities are implemented between April 16, 2021 - April 15, 2023 in the counties of Bacău, Călărași, Giurgiu, Prahova and in Bucharest and are addressed to teachers in pre-university education who teach subjects that develop students' social and civic skills.

The aim of the project is to increase access to civic education and participatory democracy among middle and high school students and young teachers in Bacău, Călărași, Giurgiu and Prahova counties, and Bucharest.

The objectives of the project are:

→ Increasing the degree of civic skills training of 720 middle school and high school students in Bacău, Călărași, Giurgiu, Prahova counties, and Bucharest;
→ Development of interactive teaching skills of civic education and participatory democracy among 12 middle school and high school teachers from Bacău, Călărași, Giurgiu and Prahova counties, and Bucharest;
→ Increasing the degree of civic involvement of young people - high school and high school students and teachers up to 35 years’ old.
