Between December 2021 and December 2023, E-Romnja is a partner in the project “Integrated services for Roma peopleă from vulnerableățcommunities", code PN1019.

The general objective of the project is development of an integrated and innovative system of accessible and quality services to ensure increased inclusion and empowerment of Roma in 4 localities in Neamț, Suceava, Timiș and Dolj counties.

The project aims to provide quality integrated sectoral services for 1310 persons in situations of vulnerability, of which 1275 are Roma, from marginalized communities in 4 counties in Romania: Neamț (Bahna, Izvoare village), Suceava (Ciprian Porumbescu, Ciprian Porumbescu village) , Timiș (Checea, Checea village) and Dolj (Breasta, Breasta village). The project also includes actions to empower Roma people, as well as measures to improve awareness to combat discrimination.

The 4 communities participating in the project will improve their status as marginalized communities by: the number of children participating in educational programs, increasing the number of people employed in the formal labor market, as well as reducing inequalities in coverage with social and medical services.

Through all these long-term positive effects, the project will contribute to breaking the cycle of socio-economic exclusion and the vicious cycle of poverty and thus "increasing Roma inclusion and empowerment".

Expected results:

  • 1275 Roma people will benefit from services for obtaining identity documents, improving living conditions, educational services, employment, health
  • 32 specialists / volunteers in the fields of education, health, employment, social assistance, public administration, NGO sector, etc. will improve their skills of working with Roma communities
  • 150 Roma people (adults, young people or children), especially Roma women and young people with low levels of awareness of their rights and participation in community life will benefit from information for empowerment
  • 45 experts and Roma leaders from Neamț and Dolj counties who will benefit from activities in the field of community facilitation (25 people from each of the two counties).
  • 35 members of the community belonging to the majority population, who live in the intervention areas of the project, including people in situations of vulnerability, risk or facing various forms of socio-economic exclusion, will benefit from the same services as the Roma population
  • 500 members of the community belonging to the majority population, who live in the project implementation area, will be the subjects of an awareness / sensitization campaign on anti-discrimination issues

The project received a grant of € 980,833 from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through EEA Grants under the Local Development Program.
