"The Women Who Invoke the Rain" project seeks to recover, document, and celebrate the stories of Romani women, written and told by Romani women from Romania and other countries like Spain, Moldova, Serbia and Germany, from a feminist and decolonial perspective. The project positions storytelling as a form of cultural resistance and collective memory.

In a context marked by stereotypical representations and historical invisibility, this initiative reclaims the voices and narratives of Romani women from within our communities and families. Through interviews, collected oral histories, written texts, and community-based research, the project creates a space for self-representation and intergenerational dialogue.

The ten stories gathered by Romani contributors preserve the intangible cultural heritage of Romani women, challenge dominant narratives within Romanian and international space, and counter prejudice and marginalization. By amplifying these voices, the project strengthens solidarities across generations of Romani women and contributes to a more ntersectional cultural landscape.
