From May 2022 to April 2024, the E-Romnja association is a partner in the project \"Facilitating Access to Integrated Education, Health, Employment, and Empowerment Services for Vulnerable People in District 1\", Project Code PN1044.<\/b><\/p>\n

The general objective of the project<\/strong> is to develop an integrated and innovative system of quality services that ensures the increase of inclusion and empowerment of Roma people in the identified Roma communities in District 1 of Bucharest Municipality.<\/p>\n

Specific Objectives<\/strong> of Project PN1044:<\/p>\n

1. Increase access to sectoral and integrated services for 600 vulnerable people, of which at least 400 (2\/3) are Roma, from 3 neighborhoods in District 1 over 24 months.<\/p>\n

2. Empower 30 Roma people, focusing on young Roma women from District 1 over 13 months.<\/p>\n

3. Improve the skills of 11 specialists and volunteers working with Roma people in District 1 to enhance the quality of services provided and the level of inclusivity of public authorities and institutions in District 1 over 20 months.<\/p>\n

Expected Results of the Project:<\/strong><\/p>\n

600 vulnerable people, of which at least 400 are Roma, will have access to education, health, employment, and social assistance services:

8 people will receive new identity documents;
200 children will benefit from educational services to prevent early school leaving;
150 Roma people (plus 150 majority) will benefit from employment services;
11 specialists and volunteers working with Roma people will improve their skills;
30 Roma people will benefit from empowerment measures;
2 Roma experts and leaders will be trained;
Two awareness campaigns on education and parenting will be organized for the Roma population (100 beneficiaries);

What Will We Do Through This Project?<\/strong><\/p>

Through this project, the local administration of District 1 aims to develop an integrated and innovative system of quality services that ensure the increase of inclusion and empowerment of Roma people in the identified Roma communities in District 1. It also aims to increase access to sectoral and integrated services for 600 vulnerable people, of which at least 400 are Roma, from three neighborhoods in District 1: Giule\u0219ti S\u00e2rbi, Chitila\/Chitila Triaj, and Str\u0103ule\u0219ti.<\/p>

An important component of this project is the educational one, aimed at identifying and reducing the risk of preschoolers dropping out who live in District 1 and are in vulnerable situations, by creating a mechanism to prevent and combat absenteeism and school dropout.<\/p>

Several partners are involved in this project: Life and Light Foundation<\/a>E-Romnja Association and the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection (DGASPC) District 1<\/a><\/strong>. Representatives of these entities have already formed a mobile team that conducts visits to Roma communities to carry out social surveys to identify the needs of each family member and to create a personalized intervention plan. Following these social surveys, 200 children were selected, of which 150 are Roma and 50 are Romanian. They will benefit from school mediation, vocational counseling, school psychological counseling, mentoring, material support (food packages, transportation reimbursement to get children to school, clothing, and footwear for children enrolled in the education system).<\/p>

Additionally, the parents of these children will be counseled to support the student's educational journey, and the relationship between family-school-DGASPC District 1 will be mediated to strengthen collaboration in preventing school dropout. Students who continue their education will enter a mentoring program provided by Life and Light Foundation volunteers.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
